Could Ban Ki-Moon be the Beast of Revelation 17?

UN Approves Ban Ki-moon

 as

 The Eighth Secretary General

“… and he will be the eighth…”

An A-O Report Special

News and Prophetic Textual Analysis

“And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.”

(A-O Report) -- The United Nations General Assembly adopted a perhaps prophetically significant resolution by unanimous acclamation on Friday, the 13th of October, 2006. Resolution 1718 provided for the appointment of the South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon to succeed Kofi Annan as the next UN secretary general.

When Sheikha Haya Rashed Al Khalifa, the assembly president, asked members of the 192-nation world body to adopt the resolution by acclamation, hundreds of diplomats and UN staff in the chamber burst into loud applause. She then banged the gavel saying "it is so decided."

Ban Ki-Moon becomes the eighth Secretary General in the UN's 60 year history. Ki-Moon's selection was heavily promoted by the self-proclaimed "messiah" - Korean minister, Reverend Sun Myung Moon, who reportedly and quietly spent discreetly, millions of dollars in lobbying efforts over the past 5 years to ensure his choice for the position was selected. He was one of 7 candidates running for the position.

One element in Moon’s favor is the UN tradition of rotating the Secretary-General 5-year term position among the various continents. By tradition, it was Asia’s turn to have someone from Asia hold the position of Secretary-General of the U.N. For that reason, Reverend Moon had lobbied against Kofi Annan’s re-election four years ago amid significant criticism of Annan citing the need for an Asian to be elected to the position. This time around, Reverend Moon’s efforts would pay off.

Moon’s efforts began to pay off several months ago in straw polls showing strong support for his candidate, Ban Ki-Moon. The early support for Ban Ki-moon was due in part to Reverend Moon’s discreet lobbying efforts as well as foreign aid distributed to key member nations by South Korea.

It was thought by many prophecy watchers, including this commentator that perhaps former President Bill Clinton might be selected as the next Secretary-General. What was not realized until now, is that no citizen from any nation with a permanent seat on the Security Council can be selected.
By convention, the Secretary-General cannot be a national of any of the permanent members of the Security Council. This completely rules out the selection of someone like Bill Clinton.

The major clearing hurdle for Reverend Moon’s hand-picked candidate  would be at the UN Security Council. The General Assembly considers only nominations approved by the Security Council.

Interestingly enough, the UN Security Council is composed of 15 member-nations, 10 of which are temporary memberships. Those temporary seats are filled by an election conducted in the General Assembly every two years.  A temporary membership seat on the Security Council is then held for a period of only two years. There are 5 member-nations who hold the permanent positions. The five permanent members are: The United States, Britain, France, China and Russia.

What we find more intriguing, from a prophetic standpoint, is that the temporary membership level stands at 10. Why do we find that intriguing?
Consider the prophecy regarding the selection (or election) of the Beast of Revelation 17:12-14. The passage indicates the number 10 is involved. We’ll take a detailed look at the prophetic textual analysis later in this article. For now, we simply want to focus on understanding the UN selection process.

The Security Council “nominates” a candidate for the position. The nomination process is handled primarily by the 10 ‘temporary’ members. They steer the process of selecting potential candidates with the 5 permanent members holding veto power. The process itself though is steered by the temporary members, with deference to the wishes of the 5 permanent members.

When selecting a Secretary-General, the candidates go through a “vetting” process handled primarily by the 10 temporary members prior to the nomination itself. The ambassadors of the 10 temporary-seat member-nations will meet with the potential nominee candidates before hand in an “interview” process.

In the recent selection process, 7 candidates were nominated.

Jayantha Dhanapala (nominated by Sri Lanka; withdrew from race on 29 September)

Shashi Tharoor (nominated by India; withdrew from race on 2 October)

Ashraf Ghani (nominated by Afghanistan; withdrew from race on 4 October)

HRH Prince Zeid Ra’ad Zeid Al-Hussein (nominated by Jordan; withdrew from race on 4 October)

Surakiart Sathirathai (nominated by Thailand; withdrew from race on 5 October)

Vaira V??e-Freiberga (nominated by Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania; withdrew from race on 5 October)

Ban Ki-moon (nominated by South Korea)

A number of other potential candidates were mentioned by commentators but did not run, including Bill Clinton (former President of the United States), Anwar Ibrahim (former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia), José Ramos Horta (Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Prime Minister of East Timor), Aleksander Kwasniewski (former President of Poland), and Tony Blair (Prime Minister of the United Kingdom).

There were four “straw polls” conducted by the Security Council beginning with the first poll back in late July. Each of the 15 member states were asked whether they would “encourage” or “discourage” each of the official candidates (or if they had “no opinion” on the candidate). Ban Ki-moon topped each of these polls. In the fourth poll, Ban Ki-moon emerged as the only candidate with the support of all five permanent members, each of whom has the power to veto candidates. The last poll results triggered the withdrawal of the first runner-up which paved the way for Ban Ki-moon to ride unopposed to through the rest of the nomination process.

On October 9, 2006, the UN Security Council met in a closed door meeting for an hour and concluded with a brief statement announcing the nomination of Ban Ki-Moon to be the next Secretary-General. That selection was made official in Security Council Resolution 1715.

Security Council Resolution 1715 became the Draft Resolution A/61/L3 and was formally considered for approval at 3:06 pm (Eastern Daylight Savings Time) on October 13, 2006 by the UN General Assembly meeting in the General Assembly hall at the United Nations building in New York City, of New York state of the United States of America.
The selection was instantly approved by unanimous acclamation at the same instant of 3:06 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time (USA) or 2100 hours GMT on the 13th day of October 2006. The meeting began at 3:00 pm and video replay from the UN video archives shows the time of the vote at the 6 minute mark of the meeting followed by one hour and twelve minutes of follow-up congratulations speeches and an acceptance speech.

Now let’s examine some of the unique aspects of this selection.

As we noted earlier, the candidate was sponsored by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, a self-described and self-appointed “messiah” who claims to be the “Son of God” to finish the work of Jesus Christ, whom Moon has said failed in his mission to secure salvation for humanity. See related article on Moon, here.

Besides the “antichrist-Moonie” connection, there are other occult indicators involved, primarily dealing with dates and numbers.

Date:

The date of Friday, October 13th has always been significant in Illuminati history because of its forerunner, The Knights Templar which suffered massive persecution beginning on a Friday, October 13, 1307, when the French King Phillip declared the Knights Templar to be heretical and ordered their arrest, torture and in many cases, execution. It was the beginning of a 7 year reign of persecution until their order was officially disbanded on  Friday the 13th, 1314 by Pope Clement V.

October 13, 2006 (another Friday the 13th) was the 699th year since the persecution of the Knights Templar began. 699 years to the day, the successor groups to the Knights Templar (Illuminati & Freemasonry) have engineered, along with Reverend Moon, the selection of Ban Ki-Moon to head the United Nations.

At A-O, we had suspected the Satanic, Antichrist forces would use the Friday, the 13th date to carry out something significant in their agenda in part because of the Knights Templar anniversary date of 699 which from an occult numerology standpoint is highly significant and allegedly has great “occultic” power because the 6’s and or 9’s can be reversed.

The only event on 10-13-6, that we could note from mainstream news media coverage, which might carry an related significance would be the UN agreement that selects the 8th Secretary-General. If there was anything else of great significance that transpired is was apparently done in secret or without any kind of news coverage that we could uncover.

Now the question arises as to how such an event might have tremendous Biblically prophetic significance. On the surface, one might wonder if this event might have been the fulfillment of Revelation 17:12-14, wherein the “beast” is given power and authority by 10 “horns.” This then leads us to take a fresh analytical look at the text in question.

“And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.”

“And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.”

“These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.”

Revelation 17:11-13

Let’s look at the KEY TERMS

in these three verses.

BEAST
.
The term “beast” in the original Greek text of Apostle John’s language is the term “theyrion.” (Strong’s Code #2342) The term can have a variety of meanings and can be translated variously as:

#1. beast or animal. (connotations are that a “theyrion” is small in size and also the term conveys the idea of “wildness” or “savageness.”)

#2. A human being with a bestial nature, savage and cruel.

#.3. animal-like beings of a supernatural kind.  The B-A-G-D  Greek-to-English Lexicon assigns this definition to all Revelation usages of the word.

#4. A sphinx-like hybrid being, perhaps supernatural. The term was used for the Great Sphinx of Egypt as well as other related art sculptures.

Horns

The Greek term is “kerata” or root – “keras”  (Strong’s # 2768)

#1. a horn usually of an animal.

#2. symbolically of the idea of strength, courage, and or power, as an animal would use a horn as a weapon.  Strength, ability, power, authority.

#3. as a helper.

Kings

The Greek term is “basileis” or “basileia” – (Strong’s #932)

#1. dominion, rule, power, royal power or kingship

#2. a kingdom –OR – a territory, nation, a realm, usually for a land governed by a King.

#3. a king or a leader of a nation or of some authority

#4. a kingly power, authority, dominion,  an ambassador of a  king or an ambassador of a ruling authority. The ambassador or representative of a nation.

#5. to be possessed of high prerogatives and distinctions. Someone possessing authority.

#6. to be a ruler or to govern

#7. a person attatched to the king,

Kingdom

See above – but basically referring to the land, territory kingdom or a nation.

So, when we look at the Revelation 17:11-13 passage we find that the
Beast is some sort of man or a supernatural being or a hybrid man-angelic entity.

IF we assume that the passage is referring to humans as the beast and 10 horns, then we can look at the text and translate it better as follows:

“And the savage, brutal man that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.”

“And the ten representatives/ambassadors which thou sawest are ten ambassadors, which have received no permanent authority; but receive  temporary authority as representatives/ambassadors for one hour (meeting) with the brutal, savage man.”

“These 10 representatives are in total agreement, and shall assign power and strength unto the beast.”

Commentary:

Textual application:

It seems that the passage can best be understood as describing some sort of meeting (perhaps an emergency meeting) in which 10 representatives meet for an hour and select a savage, brutal man and assign or give him authority and power.

This “beast” or savage, brutal man is the eighth man preceded by seven others who had most likely the same authority and power as that given to the eighth man.

On October 9, 2006, the UN Security Council, composed of 10 temporarily empowered ambassadors voted to give power and authority of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to South Korea’s Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon, after a one hour meeting. Their decision became embedded as UN Security Council resolution #1715 and was a recommendation to the entire UN General Assembly who on the highly occult day of Friday the 13th of October, 2006 at 3:06 pm local New York time unanimously acclaimed and affirmed the UN Security Council Resolution #1715 which assigned power and authority of the office of Secretary-General of the United Nations to Ban Ki-moon, who just happened to be the choice of Reverend Sun Myung Moon, self-proclaimed “messiah” and successor to Jesus Christ.

On a related note regarding Reverend Moon’s efforts to influence and or control the U.N., one Washington, D.C. columnist is reporting that Reverend Moon’s group is lobbying for Josette Sheran Shriner (former Washington Times editor and member of Moon’s Unification Church) to become the next Executive Director of the World Food Program which operates under UN direction. She also is being promoted for the assignment by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and U.S. Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton.

CONCLUSION:

It is hard for us to conclude that Ban Ki-moon is either the Antichrist beast or the False Prophet beast of Revelation 13. Those of us who've been prophecy watchers for a long time and have done our research have been influenced by others who have gone before us. Ban Ki-moon does not seem to fit the mold induced by modern Bible Prophecy "experts." For the most part, everyone is looking for someone who comes out of Europe or the EU as the Antichrist and the Pope as the False Prophet. There are some who think the AC will be a Muslim. Then there has been speculation that various U.S. presidents or U.S. power brokers like Henry Kissinger could/would be the Antichrist. There's also the theory that it is Lord Maitreya who is the Antichrist. Not many have thought the Antichrist could or would be the UN Secretary-General and those who did never dreamed he might be of Korean ancestry.

We also note that Ban Ki-Moon seems to be a diplomat with a nice, quiet, civilized, friendly, nice, decent, personality. Whether he is all of that or not, I do not know. He is not considered to have an appetite for politics and is not at all versed on military aspects, both of which are character traits that Prophecy watchers ascribe the Antichrist.

But then, who's to say that Revelation 17:11-13 is referring to the Antichrist beast? Perhaps it is referring to the False Prophet beast? Well, if so, that flies in the face of standard Prophecy watchers conventional wisdom which holds that the false prophet must be the leader of a big religious group, like the Pope, or some Ayatollah, or a minister or priest of some sort. Perhaps, but then again, then those terms are unequivocally absent from the text. There is nothing in the description of the False Prophet to indicate he couldn't be the UN Secretary-General.

In another aspect, the objection could be raised that the Security Council is composed of 15 members and not 10. This is true but the Security Council is kind of a split group. 5 permanent members and 10 temporary members compose the body and the 10 hold that seat at the council for only two years. If God was indicating these verses to be referring to the Security Council, why didn't he mention 15 or the other 5 members as permanent members? My response back would be that God was keeping this identity semi-veiled so that it wouldn't be obvious. It might also be argued that he merely wanted to focus on the unique nature of the 10 horns. It should be noted that none of the 5 member nations can have a citizen from their country hold the position as UN Secretary-General and so for that reason, the focus was narrowed to just the 10 for in reality, it is they who do the nominating, not the other 5. The 5 members merely hold "veto" power.

So do we really think that Ban Ki-Moon is the beast of Revelation 17?

We think it is a definite possibility, and something to be considered and monitored, but we certainly wouldn't rule it out at this point in time. It is simply something we should all keep in consideration.
