Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got herself into a tight spot trying to defend rioters.
A top Republican forced her to face facts.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stopped dead when she heard these five questions.
Democrats aren’t willing to call out the protesters, even when serious crimes have been committed.
Even Joe Biden, who is a so-called “moderate,” has shown that he’s willing to tear down Confederate statues.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) responded to Biden’s stance by saying, “Dems support the riots. The vandals. The anarchists. That’s their base. And they’re terrified to offend them.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried to claim that the fact that Joe Biden was the nominee proves that the Democrats don’t have a base that is far to the left.
“Yes, that is precisely why the party nominated… Joe Biden.”
“Is it me, or is the GOP losing their touch with the conspiracy-theory-as-campaign-rhetoric technique?” she added in a follow-up post.
Cruz destroyed her faulty logic in his response.
“You’re the base he’s terrified of. Do you support: 1) Tearing down statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson & Abraham Lincoln? 2) Destroying Mt. Rushmore. 3) Abolishing the police. 4) Acquiescing to ‘autonomous’ lawless zones like CHAZ/CHOP? 5) ANTIFA mob violence?” he responded.
Ocasio-Cortez didn’t respond to Cruz’s questions since she believes in those things and has been vocal in the past about trying to move Biden further to the left.
Back in April, Ocasio-Cortez spoke to The New York Times about what she felt on working with Biden as the nominee. “The whole process of coming together should be uncomfortable for everyone involved — that’s how you know it’s working,” she said. “And if Biden is only doing things he’s comfortable with, then it’s not enough.”
Ocasio-Cortez has also said in the past that Biden didn’t win because of his policy, which is absolutely correct, Biden probably won the nomination rather than Bernie Sanders because the Democratic leadership pulled strings.
She also told The New York Times, “While Biden is the nominee, we also know that he didn’t win because of policy — I don’t think he won because of his agenda, he won because of different factors. In state after state after state, Democratic voters support a progressive agenda.”
There’s no secret about Ocasio-Cortez’s radical socialism, she tried to pass the Green New Deal which in its original form guaranteed a living wage to every American either unwilling or unable to work.
Ocasio-Cortez suggested to an audience at the South by Southwest Conference & Festivals that America was “10% better than garbage.”
Biden knows that he needs to get people like Ocasio-Cortez to vote for him, and if he gets elected the radicals will end up calling a lot of the shots.
