Joe Biden couldn’t believe it.
His presidential campaign was caught in rough water and it was none other than former President Obama that sunk it.
And that’s because Obama let a secret slip that just ended Joe Biden’s campaign.
n 2016, Obama saw Biden — an old white guy — as an unworthy successor to his legacy as the nation’s first black President.
Obama wanted to hand his mantle off to Hillary Clinton — whom Obama thought would carry his torch of firsts as the nation’s first female President.
“Joe, despite his many virtues, was just another white guy, one in a long line of American presidents — hardly the symbol of the Teutonic change that Obama hoped would mark his place in the history books,” wrote author Steven Levingston in a new book, according to the Daily Mail.
Levingston is the nonfiction editor of the Washington Post, and has authored books about former President John F. Kennedy. His new book, Barack and Joe: The Making of an Extraordinary Partnership is scheduled for release on October 8.
“Barack had placed his bet on Hillary, the one he believed would confirm his revolutionary stamp on American’s political culture – the first black president passing the baton to the first woman president,” he wrote.
The book notes that Obama did not endorse Biden for president in 2020 either, marking a blow to his former vice president who routinely cites Obama’s legacy on the campaign trail.
Obama also did not endorse Biden in 2020 — which should have been an early sign that Biden’s candidacy was nowhere near as strong as the fake news claimed.
This book drops at a terrible time for Biden.
Biden’s sinking in the polls in the key early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada.
Allegations of corruption surrounding his actions in Ukraine are dogging his campaign.
And now a bombshell book just dropped reporting that Barack Obama found him to be an unworthy successor to the former President’s legacy.
Taken together, these three facts could spell the end of Biden’s campaign.
We will keep you up-to-date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
